Mediocre Photography
I’m not a photographer, but I take many photos. My father was a commercial photographer for many years, the laundry room in our home doubled as a dark room when I was very young. Many close friends and family members of mine are currently successful photographers, working commercially or in photojournalism. I’m surrounded by good photographers, but I am not one of them. However, “jack of all trades, master of none” has an additional line "...but oftentimes better than a master of one” which is generally omitted. I sometimes take a good photo - and I’m also highly critical of trends in modern photography. Here's a few current feelings I have: I’m tired of seeing collections of brown toned photos with heavily desaturated greens. Most HDR photography looks like garbage. The deep blacks and bright whites in your black and white photography should generally still have texture. I sometimes wonder if many “photographers” actually enjoy looking at others’ photography. Anyway, here’s a handful of OK photos, taken from both digital and film cameras.
